THIS IS THE WEEK THAT WAS…

Ever think “darn it but my life is boring”! Or words to that effect. Well here’s the précis version of my week and I present it as my evidence that mine is of mild interest but only to me and possibly chronic insomniacs.

Sunday
We arrived home to Ireland from France onboard the Oscar Wilde and drove out of Rosslare towards Dublin through countryside that would do any tourist board proud. No matter how much I like to get away I love coming home even more.

Monday
Back to work and I have my usual trouble revving up my brain to anything approaching full steam ahead. A sad week for me because I’m relocating to another area and leaving my team behind after 6 years.

Tuesday
A packed work day catching up on things. Trying hard to keep up my holiday resolutions to take a lunch break and get out of the office. The weather is on and off between glorious sunshine and thundery showers.

Wednesday
Work……

Thursday
Starting to pack away my things in my old office I came across a memorial card I kept from when a colleague of mine died very suddenly just before I started in my current position. I kept it pinned to my noticeboard to remind me that life is precious and not all about the job. I managed to ignore that card for the intervening six years even though it was in my line of sight every day. Fail.

Friday
I love Friday. Not just because it’s (nominally) the end of my work week, but simply because I’ve always loved Friday.

Saturday
The Ban Chéile and I slipped into my old office today and we packed all my “stuff”. It’s amazing how much “stuff” a person can gather in just six years – well it’s actually six years and seven months. I hate a big Hoo Haa so I have a tendency to slip out of one job with as little fuss as humanly possible and slide into the next the same way. Only a few more days and I’ll be saying my silent goodbyes.

Told you it was only mildly interesting…

* Ban-Cheile means Wife/Spouse/Life Partner in the Irish Language. A literal translation would be “woman I’m together with” or thereabouts. SWMBO = She Who Must Be Obeyed 🙂
